10 Deadly sins in Marriage and Committed Relationships

BONNETH · May 25, 2020 ·

A marriage or a happy relationship never falls apart for one reason or another. Most of the time, even if you are stuck in a marriage that does not make you happy, you would choose to ignore the red signs and sins. After all, it’s easy to ignore something instead of dealing with the mess of fixing the relationship issues. And even worse, sometimes you can convince yourself that all relationships are doomed to mediocrity and self-satisfaction. This is not the case! To find the real problem, pay attention to the marriage advice below because I am going to talk about 10 deadly sins in marriage and committed relationships that you should never ignore!

1). Adultery

10 Deadly sins in Marriage and Committed Relationships

We all know that cheating can severely affect family relationships and even destroy it. However, this sin does not only involve the physical part of the process. Today, pornography is much more accessible, and research has shown that it directly influences the destruction of the family and relationship issues. It also turned out that there is a direct link between the “love” of adult films and perversions or perverse crimes. In other words, pornography seriously affects the basis of family life.

2). The love of wealth

The love of wealth is directly related to selfishness and, in our case, to wealth and domination, which prevents the existence of healthy family relationships. Healthy relationships involve valuing the other more than anything, wealth and power do not have to be the main goal in life. True love is the moment when you want to see your partner happy and fulfilled!

3). Pride

marriage advice 3, Pride is a treacherous notion. Of course, we must have dignity, but when we consider ourselves the most important persons of the earth, we are not only confident, but we are also affected by pride. Pride can easily infiltrate family relationships. This happens when one of the partners starts to think that he is more important than the other. Instead of having high expectations, you should think that the beloved partner is the most expensive person in the world (more expensive than yourself). If both have such a thought, the marriage will flourish.

4). Despair

Despair is a long-lasting bad mood. It is considered a deadly sin for marriage, when one of the spouses is always dissatisfied with something. This permanent state makes life unbearable for both of them. Of course, everyone is allowed to be sad at times, but a constant state – it is a serious sin, which we must all avoid.

5). Anger

Anger is directly related to irritation and self-control issues. When anger takes its place in the family, arguments, scandals, and upsets occur. It is natural for a couple to sometimes argue. But how you react to irritation is very important! Your reaction shows whether you are committing a deadly sin against your family or not. Couples who allow outbursts of emotion during arguments become victims of anger. If we do not control our emotions, we cause emotional and even physical injuries! This is one of the most important marriage advice.

6). Laziness

Family life is a common effort and its opposite is laziness, a deadly sin for the marriage. Laziness brings a lot of trouble. If the partners do not make an effort for a happy coexistence, then the relations between them are destroyed. In marriage there is no room for laziness, if one of the partners makes no effort, then the other will carry a double burden. The unwillingness to fulfil family obligations or to pay attention to the other will lead you to a sad end.

7). Possessiveness

marriage advice number 7, Possessiveness is an enemy of happiness in a couple and at first sight, a rather abstract notion that not many people feel able to assume openly. However, how many of us have not at least once been subjugated by possessiveness? This is a very weird feeling and no one wants to be controlled all the time. This is a relationship issue that will lead the couple to a certain end. Remember, if you love someone let him go, if she will come back, the person is yours!

8). Expectations and comparisons

This relationship issue occurs when you expect too much from your partner. You subtly pressurize your partner by comparing your other marriages or people. You may think that this would help your life partner to understand that you want the most. But, it will not happen! Never create expectations in a relationship based on comparisons. It will only put pressure and anger on your partner instead of helping them understand your point of view. If someone feels that they are never good enough because they are always compared negatively, do you think they will feel good about it?

9). Sexual Rejection

marriage

Sexual rejection is another form of relationship issue in the couple. Of course, there will be moments when you simply do not want to have sex, but if it happens all the time it will be a deadly sin for your partner. According to psychologists, an active sex life of a couple is equivalent to a healthy relationship. Even if you are sometimes too tired or nervous, try to make up for it as soon as possible. Otherwise, your relationship will suffer!

10). Addictions

Addictions for marriage advice

An addiction can ruin any marriage and can leave you both upset and angry. If you have an addiction, you may feel that your partner does not understand you and, is unreasonable, even if you realize that you are now the wrong person. On the other hand, the other partner may feel powerless and depressed. Make an effort and deal with your addiction, alone or with professional help. You may not realize it today, but your addiction may soon become a relationship issue that kill your marriage.

In conclusion for the 10 marriage advice above, many of us lead our lives this way, believing that love and marriage are nothing more than a support system in which you have someone to rely on, for emergencies and family reunions. It’s just something we need to fit into the rules of society. But that’s far from the truth! A happy and loving marriage can give you so much more. It can give you a fuller life! To obtain that, you should be careful about the relationship issues created by sins. If you are unhappy, you should try to find them and talk to your partner. Be brave and always open to tell your concerns! Good luck!
