7 Qualities That All Strong And Independent Women Have

BONNETH · April 15, 2021 ·

Women, even today, continue to be seen as meek, delicate, loving beings, dedicated to the care of the home and family. The female universe has long been identified as the weak counterpart of the male one, since there was a tendency – and in some cases still tends today – to consider women as less able to defend themselves and overcome difficulties. Yet, we all know today that this is not quite the case: today there are really strong women.

Women are zealous, they are the pillar of society and they are worthy in their private and professional life. It is time to definitively dispel commonplaces and say enough to gender stereotypes. Women have an inexhaustible source of strength on an emotional level: to show it they do not resort to externalizations of superiority, but they do it through some recognizable gestures.

But what are the traits that distinguish women with strong personalities?

The characteristics of strong women

Strong women know how to find happiness on their own; they have enough self-confidence to be able to be happy without any need to seek recognition or approval from others. They are emotionally independent and are able to establish healthy relationships without any need to depend on their partner.

Here are seven characteristics that a strong woman must possess. If you can assume these attitudes, you too will be a strong woman.

1) They are always looking for opportunities to grow

Strong women have learned that the only thing that stands between them and success is their own actions. For this reason they always move towards their goal, even if in small steps. Whatever they do, they never stop waiting for success to come by itself. They move towards growth to improve themselves.

2) They do not allow themselves to be influenced by others

Usually, women are bombarded with messages that make them feel inadequate; if they do not adapt to certain stereotypes, they risk falling into insecurity. Strong women, on the other hand, know very well who they are; they do not need to pursue stereotypes or ideal standards proposed by the advertising industry: strong women know what they are worth!

3) They are not satisfied if they know they deserve more

Strong women are not satisfied with crumbs; life experiences that many women unfortunately only learn over time. Once they understand the depth of this lesson, they realize that being satisfied is a waste of precious time that they will never recover.

They have learned that always aiming high helps them avoid the burden of pain and the waste of time caused by settling for what does not make them feel satisfied.

4) They eliminate toxic people from their lives

She understood that to feel good about themselves it is necessary to keep away not only aggressive people, but also those who live on gossip, who always criticize and who live in dramatic situations.

They have learned that healthy limits must be set in order to live free from the emotional baggage that does not belong to them. Strong women also understood that this attitude makes it easier to achieve their dreams and goals.

5) They forgive, but they never forget

They have learned to forgive. They understood that forgiveness is not a gift to those who have hurt them, but a gift they give to themselves

Strong women know that forgiveness is a precious resource for getting rid of anger. Without it, one remains in a constant state of bitterness and confusion that leads to unhappiness. However, even if they forgive, they remember who hurt them. In this way, they learn from their mistakes and become cautious with people who have proven they are not worthy of their trust.

6) They don’t care what others think

They know well that they must not fall into the trap of comparisons, that their happiness depends on it. Strong women ignore the pessimistic thoughts others may have about them. Ultimately, they know that success or failure depends only on their own decisions.

They have learned not to listen to the opinions of those who do not have the necessary experience but only those of those who have requested an opinion.

7) They know they are not perfect and they understand that it is okay

Nobody is perfect, especially those who believe they are. For this reason, strong women have the power and the ability to accept themselves, with their strengths and weaknesses.

This allows them to become easily adaptable people, which, while it may seem strange to you, allows them to live life to the fullest.

For them, wasting time worrying about what they are not is absurd. After all, life is too short to have these thoughts.
